The mission of the California Cannabis Industry Association (CCIA) is to be a leading force in the growth and health of California’s cannabis industry.
What does CCIA do?
1. State Level Advocacy:
Our experienced team has already established an extensive network amongst state lawmakers and legislative staff. CCIA is also putting itself in a position to advise our lawmakers as uniquely informed industry experts when it comes to writing regulations and advancing the public dialogue. Those industry experts come from our membership and the executive committee of our association, which have helped us establish trust and familiarity between the industry and elected officials.
Thanks to CCIA the industry now has a voice in Sacramento. The State legislature is trying to pass regulations for the medical marijuana industry this year. With an organized voice at the Capitol, our industry will be able to ensure that we don't have overly burdensome regulations like we have seen in other states.
2. Local Level Advocacy
We provide our members with step-by-step directions on how to set up a local government advocacy campaign in their area. We will also make calls and write letters to the city or county on your business’s behalf. The more members you have in your area, the more resources we can devote to your area, and the more your local elected officials will hear from the industry in a clear and organized fashion. This is a proven model which has been applied by other industries, and will allow the unique concerns of our industry to develop statewide best practices and provide officials and agencies with positive messages and accurate information regarding our growing industry.
3. Federal Level Advocacy
Through our affiliation with the National Cannabis Industry Association, a portion of all membership dues support NCIA and its work as the only advocate for the cannabis industry in Washington, DC.
